What equipment do I get to use in the Game?

We provide you with the following equipment to use for the duration of the Game:

·  You will all wear an MRBA Harness, supplied with a cap to connect the head-band styled Halo to.
·  If you are a new player, you  will be issued a standard AR-30 Assault Rifle (along with most of your squad)
·  If you are experienced, you may be issued with a heavy (or other) weapon.
·  In your initial weapons briefing, you will be able to use a Target Unit to familiarise yourself with your weapon.
·  One soldier will be the Squads communications link to Command, and be fitted with a two-way radio.
·  Your Squad leader will be issued with a map of the area to navigate by and to complete their mission with.
·  All soldiers will be issued* with their own exclusive STIRBA drink bottle on their first Event only (conditions apply).

*This ensures you have access to refreshments for your first and future Games.
Note: Presenting a STIRBA bottle at a future Game provides the Member with a discount off of a normal full priced Event.

Real Lasers ?

We do not use lasers, as yours and others' safety is more important to us than increasing the combat  range!

The use of the word “lazer” or “laser” in lazertag or lazerskirmish, is simply the common term used when referring to an activity that utilises infrared light to score "hits" on opponents.
Our equipment uses infrared light where the light intensity and duration is so brief that it is completely harmless.
The output from a DVD player’s remote control uses the same infrared technology, except our system is a highly advanced, 21st century version.

What is your minimum group booking size?

Our minimum group booking size is 15 players.

We know from experience that 20+ players gives a great game, 15 players allows for a good game, but around 10 players reduces the game play dynamics and player satisfaction dramatically. This can typically end up with a long walk with no enemy in sight... turning suddenly into a frustrating stalemate shoot-out or an easy "shoot two enemy and win" situation.

For example, with 15 players we can form two teams (9:6 or 10:5) which allows good team work against higher odds for the smaller team, and provides the larger team with enough enemy forces to prevent them getting too confident in their numbers alone.

Do you use inflatable obstacles?

LazeRage Combat Simulations does not compromise our events by substituting intelligent game play, tactics and planning with large inflatable canvas obstacles, no matter how colourful they may look, or how many bullet holes are painted on to their surface.

Our combat is around the real obstacles, natural terrain and concealment found on the site.
This allows our customers to apply infantry tactics in a believable combat area, and in turn, promotes strong team work and conveys a higher level of realism.

As our customers are not inflatable, neither is our game field!

What do I need to wear and bring along?

You need to wear clothing that can handle some abuse and won't be missed if it gets a tear or a few grass stains.

You can wear your own camouflage clothing if you wish, or we have camouflague long sleeve shirts available!
They can be used for a gold coin fee (to cover laundering) and you will need to wear a singlet or t-shirt underneath.
Otherwise, you should try and wear tan, dark green or black clothing to provide better concealment in the scrub, as bright fluorescent clothes generally get noticed more and say to the other players "shoot here".

Valuables should be left behind and only the bare minimum should be taken with you to our Events.  We do not provide safe storage of valuables and for your’s and other’s safety, decorative items that protrude or could become snared are prohibited.  This includes ear rings, necklaces, rings with large features or other items which are not low profile.

For your comfort, we provide sunburn cream, insect repellent and cool fresh water at our Events (if none onsite).

All players must wear sturdy and comfortably fitting, runners or boots that are not scared of muddy puddles of water.

WHAT TO WEAR AT OUR EVENTS:

You must wear long trousers that can be tucked in or taped firm around each ankle when you are crouching.
A T-shirt (if you intend to utilise our camouflage shirts) or bring your own long sleeve collared shirt to protect you from any scratches while moving through the scrub, sunburn if playing during the day and to aid your comfort when wearing the MRBA Harness.

How can I be more involved?

Want more?   Check out our "Sqad and Team Information" section for more info!

Register your Squad!
We are taking registrations for a ladder competition for “Squads” of 6-8 players.
They compete in playoffs through a season to challenge the best in the finals for a perpetual trophy.
More competitions are being organised so make sure you contact us with your interest and ask us for details!

Get a Team together for a great social Event that will get you fit!
You will be constantly crouching low to avoid fire, twisting your midsection from side to side to engage the enemy, sprinting across open areas and weaving for cover, crawling low to the ground and carrying a 3.4 kilogram weapon in your arms the whole time.  During your battle, you will have a ton of adrenaline pumping through your system which will allow you to push yourself harder and faster than “normal” workouts allow.  The whole Event will not feel or look like a gym, but the workout you get will utilise all your common muscle groups!  Exercise with a purpose!

A Q&A session between LazeRage CS and another lazer-skirmish operator:
(used with permission, editing rights reserved by LazeRage CS)

Q:  Are your guns connected to the player?
A.  The weapons are physically secured to the player’s MRBA harness.

Q:  The MRBA harness looks pretty cool. Did you have them made especially for your system, or did you retro-fit a standard harness of some sort?
A.
The MRBA harnesses are custom made, are fully kitted out and are easy to operate with.

Q:  Do you find any problems with sensor damage when players lie down and roll, etc?
A.
Our sensor covers are not the typical dome type, but a sleek new custom design with a very low profile.  They can withstand a lot of direct pressure and allow players to roll and move without any real restrictions.

Q:  I can imagine having so many sensors is a boon for long range shooting (ie more sensors = more likely to hit), but do you find it makes the game too easy when shooting at a closer-range?
A.
The lens assembly is very accurate, as it is focused out to 250 meters when assembled.
The design reduces close range "spray" to a very short area from the muzzle, meaning you can easily miss with close range "guesstimate" shots.

Q:  Is you system compatible with other lazer-skirmish systems?
A.
No.  Our system and equipment specifications are all custom designed. We have more features, advanced and detailed game tracking, higher realism and greater reported range, than other common systems.

Q:  I liked your MRBA instructional video. Do you have this playing on-site for new players?
A.
At the moment it is intended as a pre-event introduction video.  We conduct a live demonstration for new members at their first event as a part of their equipment familiarisation.

Q:  What are your guns made from? They look like fibreglass, or is it all metal?
A.
Similar to modern weaponry, we use polycarbonates for our weapons.  Our customers consistently respond well to the design, feel and the realistic weight.

Q:  I presume that you have your own game-site, or do you just operate on a mobile basis?
A.
We operate on land that we have access to and which we have conducted a safety check on.  It is familiar and therefore there are no suprises to us as hosts for outdoor action.  We have access to a medium sized field (20 acres) and a larger (200 acres) field with wich we alternate our games between.

We are fully mobile and leave nothing behind on our sites.
